Frequently Asked Questions

Server type describes the overall gameplay style: experience and drop rates, the balance between PvE and PvP, the role of the Job System, and whether guild mechanics such as Fortress War are central to the server's design. It is not limited to rates alone and shapes the entire experience from the first login.

A Classic Cap 80 server recreates the original Silkroad Online experience with only the Chinese race, traditional Bicheon, Heuksal, and Pacheon weapon masteries, and a slower progression pace. Modern-style servers raise the level cap beyond 80, unlock the European race with its distinct classes, and introduce additional zones and content updates released after 2005.

PvE-focused servers emphasise grinding, trading routes, and dungeon content with limited open-world conflict, while PvP servers place combat between players at the centre, often amplifying the rivalry between Thieves and Hunters in the Job System and increasing the stakes of Fortress War sieges.

The Job System, available from level 20, lets players choose the role of Trader, Thief, or Hunter, each with a separate progression track called Degree that is independent of combat level. Server type determines how active and contested this system is: on PvP-oriented servers, Thief versus Hunter confrontations are frequent and central, while on PvE servers the system is present but less combative.

Consider what you value most: if you prefer the original Chinese-only gameplay with deliberate progression, look for Classic Cap 80 servers; if open-world conflict and guild warfare appeal to you, choose a PvP type; if you want to experience the full game including the European race and later content, select a server type that reflects a higher cap and a broader feature set.
